AeroPress: Innovative coffee maker for the home

From Aerobie sports toy to coffee maker

Flying objects meet coffee enjoyment! The AeroPress success story began in 2004, when coffee-loving American entrepreneur Alan Adler began developing the coffee maker. The scientist, who originally focused on the design of aerodynamic flying objects, found it impossible to brew a delicious cup of coffee using a conventional filter coffee machine. After more than 40 prototypes, his work was complete: One year later, the original AeroPress model was launched by the American sports toy manufacturer Aerobie. It wasn't until 2017 that the Aerobie sports toy line was sold, and the company became AeroPress, Inc. Today, the innovative coffee maker is available in over 80 countries and has become an indispensable part of the coffee world.

Preparing coffee & espresso is child's play

The AeroPress is a true all-rounder among coffee makers. Whether you prefer mild filter coffee, a strong espresso, or a refreshing cold brew, this compact coffee maker lets you prepare your favorite coffee in just a few minutes. All important brewing parameters can be individually adjusted to your taste. The AeroPress offers two different brewing methods: the "classic" version and the inverted method.

To ensure your coffee develops its full aroma, we recommend freshly grinding your coffee beans before brewing. Choose a medium to fine grind. With the classic brewing method, the full-immersion method, you fill the desired amount of coffee into the brewing cylinder after placing the filter end on your mug. Then, pour water over it and stir the coffee-water mixture. Finally, place the plunger on the brewing cylinder and slowly press down until all air is expelled. The inverted method works the other way around, meaning the AeroPress is constructed the other way around. You place your coffee maker with the plunger facing down and fill the brewing cylinder, which is now facing up, with water and coffee. Then, simply place the filter holder and filter on the cylinder, turn it over, and press the plunger down. Which of the two brewing methods suits you better is purely a matter of taste. Why not try both? The AeroPress makes it possible!
