Mild coffee - CAPTN Coffee

You must have noticed that not all coffee is created equal when you went shopping. No matter whether the full shelf in the supermarket or the large selection in the online shop. The choice of coffee types seems endless. In addition to strong, flavorful coffee, mild varieties have become increasingly popular in recent years. Arabica beans are mostly used because they are naturally milder than the rather strong Robusta beans. At CAPTN Coffee we offer you a diverse selection of mild, fair trade coffees. Find your personal taste favorite and order it straight to your home.

Mild fair trade coffee

Why mild coffee?

We offer a wide selection of mild coffees with either nutty-chocolaty or fruity-sour notes. We source our coffee beans primarily from growing regions in Central and South America. It's especially important to us that they originate from fair, cooperative relationships with the coffee farmers and are traded directly. Our coffee beans are gently roasted in a drum roasting facility in Hamburg so they can develop their full aroma. The coffee is then lovingly hand-packed and shipped to your home.

How to make your coffee pleasantly mild

If you prefer a mild coffee, it's best to choose a coffee made from pure Arabica beans. You should also choose a coffee that has been roasted in a drum roaster, like our CAPTN Coffee varieties. The long-term roasting process removes the acidity from the coffee beans, resulting in a pleasantly mild flavor. Once you've decided on a coffee, there are a few things to consider when preparing your coffee.

The coffee beans should always be fresh and only removed from the package shortly before brewing and ground with a coffee grinder. This will produce a particularly aromatic coffee. For the best taste, avoid water with a high lime content. If you prepare your coffee using a coffee maker or a fully automatic coffee machine, the components that come into contact with the coffee must be cleaned regularly.

If you take these points into account, nothing will stand in the way of you enjoying an excellent coffee with our mild varieties.

If you are looking for a pleasantly mild coffee with the best taste, we recommend our varietiesBrazilandGuatemalaOur Brazilian filter coffee is a single-origin coffee made from pure Arabica beans and delights with its mild, smooth flavor of sweet milk chocolate. It is grown by the Andrade family in the Cerrado region of Minas Gerais, Brazil. The cultivation area is located at an altitude of approximately 800 to 1050 meters. The coffee gets its sweetness from the sun-drying of the coffee cherry. This is a natural process that gives the coffee beans a naturally sweet flavor.

Our Guatemala filter coffee impresses with a medium-bodied flavor with notes of pecan, caramel, and nougat. It is made from 100% Arabica beans from the Nuevo Oriente region of Guatemala. The coffee beans are grown there by the Lampocoy cooperative at an altitude of approximately 1,350 meters. Unlike our Brazilian filter coffee, our Guatemala filter coffee has a medium acidity. Which one will you choose? If you don't have a favorite yet, try both and order our mild coffee directly to your home.

Questions & Answers

Which coffee is mild?

For mild coffee, you should choose Arabica beans, as they are particularly mild and low in acid. These include varieties from growing regions in Brazil or Guatemala. When choosing your coffee, you should also pay attention to the roasting time. Mild coffees are often roasted over a longer period of time, like our CAPTN Coffee varieties.

Which type of coffee has the least acidity?

The acidity of coffee beans depends primarily on the type of coffee bean. Arabica beans naturally contain less acid than Robusta beans. Furthermore, the region where the coffee beans are grown determines the acidity. While coffees from Colombia have a comparatively high acidity, varieties from Guatemala or Brazil are lower in acid and therefore easier on the stomach.

Does mild coffee have less caffeine?

Arabica beans naturally have less caffeine than Robusta beans. However, the brewing method also influences the caffeine content of coffee. For example, if you brew your coffee with a hand filter, it will contain more caffeine than coffee brewed with a coffee maker.
