Questions & Answers

How long should a thermos cup keep things warm?

A well-insulated mug, such as the Fellow brand thermal mug, keeps coffee, tea, and other beverages hot for about 12 hours and cold for 24 hours. This makes them perfect for travel. If you're looking for a mug for shorter journeys, such as the commute to the office, a model with a warming time of at least 4 hours or a cooling time of about 8 hours might be sufficient.

What is a good thermos cup?

A good thermal mug should have a good insulation layer, primarily keeping your drink hot or cold for a long time. Another criterion for a good mug is the lid. The lid should close easily and be 100% leak-proof to prevent spills. A good thermal mug also feels particularly comfortable in the hand and has a non-slip surface. A good mug is rounded off by a stylish design. Once you've found your personal favorite, nothing stands in the way of enjoying your favorite coffee on the go.

How does a thermos cup work?

Thermos mugs are practical companions for everyday life or on long walks, as they keep your coffee nice and warm. But how does this actually work? The special design of a thermos mug ensures that the temperature equilibrium between the drink and its surroundings is delayed. Inside the mug is a double-walled insulated container made of stainless steel or glass. There is a vacuum between the inner and outer walls, which interrupts or slows down the conduction of heat and cold. There is often also a reflective silver layer inside, which reduces the heat and cold radiation. This ensures that your drink stays pleasantly warm or cold in the mug. A high-quality, tight seal is also important for a mug's insulating properties.
