Why SIMPLIFY the Brewer?

The SIMPLIFY hand filter was developed by the Japanese company BATHTUB COFFEE. Founded in 2018 by Ryo John Ito, BATHTUB COFFEE imports and distributes coffee accessories in Japan. Ryo John Ito came up with the idea of developing his own hand filter when he met a barista in Hong Kong who had made a good cup of coffee using the pour-over method. Shortly afterward, he bought a hand filter for himself, but found he couldn't make as good coffee as the barista. After trying a few recipes, he simply poured water into the center of the filter after the blooming process. When he tasted the coffee, he realized it was the best coffee he'd ever had. Thus, the idea for SIMPLIFY the Brewer was born.
SIMPLIFY the Brewer was developed based on airflow calculations with the largest possible hole of 40 mm in diameter. The idea is that after inserting the filter and adding coffee grounds, simply pour water into the center, and after 60 seconds, you can enjoy freshly brewed coffee. The filter is made of crystal-clear TROGAMID® CX plastic, which is characterized by its durability and resilience, as well as a perfect brewing temperature that stabilizes the brewing process. These factors, along with minimizing contact between the filter and the filter paper, result in a long extraction time and a sufficiently strong coffee.

Traditional pour-over preparation usually requires many attempts, and the taste of the brewed coffee can vary each time. Beginners in particular often require a lot of patience and time to prepare coffee. With SIMPLIFY the Brewer, no complicated blooming or special brewing equipment is necessary. All you have to do after inserting the paper filter (the manufacturer recommends the Kalita Wave Filter 185) and adding the coffee grounds is pour approximately 230g of water into the center of the filter for 30 seconds. After waiting 60 seconds, during which you can make another cup of coffee or continue preparing breakfast, you can enjoy your freshly brewed coffee.
